Assisting your recovery back to your normal life
Expert musculoskeletal treatment from a highly experienced physiotherapist with more than 36 years of experience working in the NHS and private sector and more than 22 years of practising acupuncture.
You will receive a thorough assessment and a plan of action will be discussed with you to maximise your recovery and day-to-day function. Treatments offered are :
hands on therapy techniques including mobilisation , manipulation, soft tissue massage and fascial release techniques; acupuncture,
electrotherapy, individualised exercise programmes and lots of self help advice to get you on the road to recovery
Many years of professional development in different skills enables you to be offered a whole person approach tailored specifically to you. Listening to you is one of the priorities of the service so your expectations of treatment can be realistically achieved. Helping you to help yourself to recover is always a priority.
As a member of the MACP I have expert skills in hands-on treatments to help your joints to move better. This helps your pain levels to ease and reduces stiffness that you may have developed
The value of exercise to help you recover has been shown in many research studies to be the most effective form of treatment to help musculoskeletal conditions. There are some well established exercise programmes that have been developed for specific conditions. You will always be assessed and given your own individual programme to work on during and after your treatment is completed. This enables you to work on the underlying cause of your problems to maximise your recovery, based on what will help you most and fitting with your lifestyle.
As a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) I offer acupuncture using Western and Traditional Chinese approaches to treatment. It can be effective in treating acute and chronic pain for a wide variety of conditions. Auriculotherapy can also be given as a treatment
I qualified from Manchester Royal Infirmary Physiotherapy School in 1986 and gained my Masters degree in ManipulativeTherapy from Coventry University in 2005. In 2000 I decided to add Acupuncture to my skill set and Injection Therapy in 2014. Regular continuous professional development has involved many post graduate courses to enhance my knowledge and expertise in musculoskeletal treatments.
I have worked for both the NHS and the private sector throughout my career. I am currently an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist for NHS services and have worked as an expert musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice for the last 16 years. Prior to this I worked at a number of sports injury clinics and with teams including ice hockey and football. I played a major role in the development of Specialist Physiotherapy Services in South Bedfordshire and have worked closely with Spinal Surgeons since 1998. I have been involved in teaching, lecturing and mentoring throughout my career and have presented at National, Regional and Local level to Consultants, GPs, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Care staff and the General Public.

Very impressed, would thoroughly recommend Jean
Very professional and I didn’t have to wait long for any of my appointments.
I’ve finished a course of physio with Jean, after tearing my calf muscle. Really good service and very knowledgeable.… Would fully recommend.
I had issues with my back that were preventing me from training.A friend advised me to contact Jean. My physiotherapy sessions took place remotely…and she did an excellent job in interpreting my injuries and explaining the recommended exercises. It was not long before I was injury-free and able to resume full training again
Excellent service and good advice
